How do we strive for sustainability?
As a leading manufacturer and distributor of identification and profiling products, we take our responsibility to continuously strive for sustainability. Our commitment to sustainability focuses on creating a workplace where all employees can grow and feel valued, while minimizing our environmental footprint.
Economical aspects
CardKeep has, ever since it was founded 25 years ago, consistently delivered stable and positive financial results, laying a solid foundation for long-term development and growth.
Our financial sustainability is built on responsible investments, strategic decisions, and operations characterized by efficiency, quality, and a long-term perspective.
We employ a large number of staff and operate from our own property - a building we have helped develop ourselves. This provides us with strong control over our resources and enables sustainable operations where we can continue to grow without compromising on responsibility or quality.
By focusing on stability and financial responsibility, we enable investments in innovation, sustainable technology, and improved working environments. At the same time, our financial performance ensures that we remain a reliable employer, a trusted partner, and a positive contributor to society.
Social aspects
CardKeep strives to be an obvious and attractive employer, with the conviction that the way to get there is through our employees. Our ambition is to offer good working conditions and create the conditions for a sustainable work-life balance. We work to provide secure and long-term employment opportunities that enable our employees to plan for the future and feel stability in their roles.
At the same time we also want to contribute to a more equal and fair society. Therefore, it is self-evident to us that all individuals regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, should be treated with respect and given the opportunity to be seen, heard, and included.
The company has invested in automation with the aim of replacing previous manufacturing processes that involved gluing steps, which generate harmful chemical fumes. When manual work involving chemicals is still necessary, we provide appropriate personal protective equipment; respirators and systems for filtering chemical fumes, which ensures that the health of our employees is not compromised.
It is also important for us to take social responsibility. We are members of and committed to Företagarna, the Gothenburg Market Association, the New Business Center in Sweden, Business Region Gothenburg (Expedition Framåt), the West Swedish Chamber of Commerce, the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and Founders Alliance.
We are also committed to and sponsor the Lerum Aspen Rotary Club, which organizes Sailing on Equal Terms and supports the fight to eradicate Polio in the world.
We are members of the Svenskt Näringsliv and Almega. These organisations work to regulate working conditions in Sweden and represents a minimum measure of our efforts to create a good working environment. We also try to influence working conditions at our partners in Asia, including visiting the factories we work with, preferably once a year, where the issue of the employees' working environment and wages is discussed.
Ecological aspects
We maintain a proactive approach to chemical and waste management, continuously seeking improvements in how we can reduce our environmental impact. Our methods are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure they align with the latest sustainable solutions and technologies. Naturally, we prioritize reusing materials whenever possible and maintain recycling programs throughout our operations. In addition to managing waste after it has been created, we focus on reducing the total amount of waste we produce. We also take responsibility for the environmental impact of our products by offering recycling options for items purchased from us.
Since we manufacture plastic products, it is of utmost importance that we minimize our use of natural resources. The majority of our card holders are produced in polypropylene (PP), a material that is environmentally preferable to many other plastics, as it can be melted down and reused repeatedly. Approximately 25% of our products are made from recycled materials. All card holders from CardKeeps own range are made with approximately 30% recycled PP, reducing resource consumption. To further expand our range of sustainable options, we also offer alternative materials such as various types of wood.
CardKeep operates both offices and production facilities using energy from renewable sources, which contributes to reduced carbon emissions and supports the transition to clean energy. The electricity we use is certified as originating from hydropower, and our facilities are heated with energy-efficient air-source heat pumps. For transportation, we choose logistics partners that meet high climate performance standards and actively work to reduce the carbon footprint of their operations.
The cardboard used to pack your order is uncolored, made from recycled materials, and FSC-certified. The same applies to the protective paper used inside the packages. Our mailing envelopes are also FSC-certified. To minimize the need for filler materials, the box sizes are always adjusted according to each order.
CardKeep is affiliated with NPA, which entails producer responsibility for packaging. The goal is to reduce littering and waste while ensuring that any waste generated is recycled. We also comply with the REACH chemical legislation and its regulations.
We are committed to protecting the environment, preventing pollution, fulfilling all applicable and binding requirements, and continuously improving our management system.
ISO 9001 and 14001
We are ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certified, which means we work systematically with environmental and quality management. We are committed to protecting the environment, preventing pollution, complying with applicable and binding requirements, and continuously improving our management system.
